2nd PART HARBOR BREEZE WIND TURBINE UPDATE

IN THIS VIDEO I MADE THE TAIL A LITTLE LONGER AND I MADE THE TAIL FIN ABOUT TWICE THE SIZE. THIS MADE THE TAIL TRACK THE WIND A LITTLE BETTER. THE WHOLE UNIT WAS TRACKING AT 30 OUT OF THE WIND BEFORE THIS. AND NOW IT TRACKS A LOT BETTER. AND IT STARTS FURLING AT ABOUT 25 TO 30 MPH. I ACTUALLY WANT IT TO STAY UNFURLED TILL ABOUT 35 TO 40. I GET SOME GOOD READINGS WITH THIS STEP. THE NEXT VIDEO WILL SHOW THE BLADE SHORTENED FROM 7 FOOT 4 INCHES TO ABOUT 6 FOOT 8 INCHES. AND IT WILL FURL AT A HIGHER WIND SPEED AS A RESULT. HOW MUCH ,,, I DONT KNOW YET.
THANKS FOR WATCHING.

I hope you found them easy and were able to put them back on. OH an ( degrees works best for vawts with blades that have a ventury curve. Just a note. I figure that if the blades were gone then it was spinning pretty fast already.

    the furling …
the furling mechanism is overspeed protection. it allows the turbine to putout the same in high winds and medium winds. before i lengthened the tail and put a bigger fin on it, I was getting lower readings. It tracks the wind much better , but it still furles a bit early. Im going to put a steel pipe tail on it , because it is too weak for the new unit.

Im loving it so far …
Im loving it so far. I made a video the other night during high winds and the long piece of pvc kept coming out of the 45 degree elbow. I should have glued it. (RIGHT?!!) LOL BUT i GOT SOME GOOD READINGS THOUGH. tHE ANALOGY OF THE EXPERIMENTING IS: i HAD TO PUT THE VICE GRIPS ON THE TAIL SECTION TO GET IT TO PUT OUT BETTER THAN BEFORE. The readings were pretty much the same before that. so shorter blades and a shorter piece of pipe from the yaw to the boom will do it a lot of good.

With the yaw on the tail could it be left operational in 50-60 mph wind days?

Love the tail setup, seems like it tracks the wind great!
