It’s not exactly free energy. Huge amounts of energy went into the creation of magnets and they do eventually wear out. Look at our planet. It has a magnetic field because of geological makeup and motion all of which have had huge amounts of energy dumped into them during the formation of our solar system. If you think of a magnet as a storage cell for the energy that was used to create them then no laws of physics are being broken.
